New classes!!
Another Kids Med will be offered next month. This is for first timers or anyone who wants to do it again.
Monday September 19, 2011 from 9am - 12pm.
Take a look at the first one
I am also introducing Kids Med II for anyone who has attended a Kids Med already. This class will review Kids Med and then primarily focus on bigger scenarios. This is an important way to practice skills learned making the participants more comfortable and confident with their new knowledge.
Kids Med II will be offered on Monday September 26, 2011 from 9am - 12pm.
Register by emailing bark13@comcast.net include the participants name and age.
Cost is $15 for one participant and $10 for additional family members in the same class.
Kids should be outside exploring the world around them. Having fun, building confidence, gaining skills and appreciating nature. Murph and Michelle love adventure and they love sharing their passion for it with their daughter Scout, who they are unschooling. They want to share their travels with other like minded families. We will be paddling, horseback riding and backpacking. Maybe combining those passions along some historical trails.

The first kids med
Today was the first class. I think it was a big success. I covered all the information I had planned, I finished right on time and most importantly, the kids had fun and learned some important stuff! There were 13 kids in all ranging in age from 4-14, 4 moms and 3 toddlers. I didn't get as many photos as I would have liked but there is definitely plans for another class. I also plan on a class for kids who have completed this one which will give them more scenario experience. Please check back for dates and enjoy the photos!

New paddlers
We had planned to organize some trips this summer...but my injury has prevented that from happening this year. We have , however, been able to go on some short paddles, with Murph providing most of the "paddle" in our boat. We have introduced canoeing and kayaking to some kids and families along the way.
Your never to old to learn to paddle, a whole new world of exploration opens up.
A great activity for families to enjoy together.
Kids exploring on there own...
loving a great life long activity.
We'll see you out there!

Fall paddle
We spoke with a local paddler last night, here in North Conway. She gave us a favorite put-in, take-out and camping spot of hers on the Saco river. She suggested an early fall paddle to avoid the crowds. So we will try to pick a date in the next few days, it will be an overnight paddle on a Saturday-Sunday.

Changes
This blog has changed...the last content never really got off the ground. We are hoping to find families to join us on adventures. The site doesn't have much on it...we are heading to Life Rocks Unschoolers Conference tomorrow. More to come when we return!
